A NOAA Visible Mosaic

The image below represents an electronic mosaic prepared from an eastern and a western pass of NOAA 14 using visible light data. The image has only about 15% of the resolution of the original, yet is still fairly impressive, covering almost all of the United States and portions of Canada and Mexico.

No attempt was made to correct for differences in light intensity for the two passes, so the overlap point of the two images is clearly evident in the south-central region of the country.

The passes were received using the WSH Zapper omni-directional antenna, a Vanguard Wepix 2000-B receiver, and the WSH Interface. The image control software was Version 2.0 of the WSHFax software - the new version available on the WSH Software Download page.
