Morikami Japanese Gardens

Delray Beach, Florida

Whenever we visited the American Orchid Society Headquarters, we couldn't help but notice that the complex was located adjacent to the Morikami Japanese Gardens. During our 2006 visit we finally got around to touring the gardens and it was a delightful experience.

The garden grounds are extensive and traversed by a complex of paths and trails.

An intriguing mobile fountain made from bamboo.

There is an excellent bonsai collection, including this fine old Azalea.

This Ficus bonsai tends to blend into the background in a conventional "flat" photograph, but stereo photography solves that problem!

There are many pleasant vistas where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

The waterfall demonstrates the superb synchronization of the Van Ekeren twin-rig camera system.
