If your interest runs to ultralight gyroplanes, the big news coming out of the ASC Nationals/KIMO 99 was the vote by the ASC Board to authorize the formation of a Rotor Wing! The goals of the Wing are simple:

• To promote the development and operation of ultralight gyroplanes.
• To integrate gyroplanes into the wider ultralight aircraft movement.
• To work with the other interest groups within Aero Sports Connection (ASC) to promote the growth and acceptance of ultralight aircraft within the wider sport aviation community.
• To work cooperatively with the Popular Rotorcraft Association (PRA) to promote safety and encourage technical innovation within the sport rotorcraft community.

One of the first initiatives for the new Wing is to establish an on-line newsletter to keep members updated on both general Wing activities and what's happening with respect to our individual members.

One of the exciting aspects of ASC is the support it provides for regional and national ultralight competitions. Here is what's happening with respect to the development of gyroplane competitive events.

Another objective of the Wing is to promote ultralight gyroplanes by creating some ultralight-specific awards to be recognized at the annual fly-in and convention of the Popular Rotorcraft Association.

This site will certainly grow in the months ahead, but much of that growth will depend on each Wing member. Don't be shy about contributing ideas or material! What's more, spread the word about the Wing, ASC, and the PRA! The better we are organized, the more fun we will have and the more respect we can generate for ultralights in general and gyros in particular!
