L.J. Norton's Bee-24

Norton lives in Milwaukee and started his project about 6 months ago with the purchase of an airframe and engine (Rotax 447) from Larry Weight of Lima, Ohio. Norton sent the engine in for a rebuild and CDI retrofit, tore down the airframe, inspected it, painted it, and then put in back together. The tail section is from the Honey Bee Gyro. Both the name of the aircraft and the B-24 bombers on the tail reflect the fact that his father served on B-24's during WWII.

This view shows the unique tail art and the 60 inch IVO prop on the 447. With 22 foot Dragon Wings, the aircraft is light enough to let Norton add a conventional Wunderlich prerotator.

Great picture of Norton's aircraft in flight. This is what it's all about!

Another nice in-flight shot!
