The dynafocal engine mount (LEAF in Colorado Springs) we used on the Gyrobee prototype is no longer in production. One possible alternative is the engine mount assembly used on the Eipper 447-equipped Sprint and Sport ultralights. This is NOT a dynafocal mount but is giving good service on the Eipper machines. It mounts the 447 inverted to a 2 x 2 tube, but should do as well in the upright position, probably with new holes to fit the Gyrobee engine bearers. The following represents a complete list of LEAF parts numbers and prices for the entire assembly, less the hardware to attach it to the engine bearers:
Quant.--Leaf Stock#--Partial Description--------------Unit Price--Total Price
2---------60270---------upper engine mount--------------$15.67------$31.34
2---------60280---------lower engine mount----------------15.67--------31.34
4---------F1810---------metric engine bolts------------------0.95---------3.80
4---------10437---------star washers---------------------------0.50---------2.00
4---------AN5-32A-----mounting bolts------------------------1.35---------5.40
8---------AN970-5------flat washers---------------------------0.14---------1.12
16--------H6150---------rubber shock mounts---------------1.20--------19.20
8---------40423----------rubber shock spacers---------------3.30--------26.40
4---------F7120----------nuts-------------------------------------0.45---------1.80
An exploded view of the parts arrangement can be found in any recent LEAF catalog near the back with all the Eipper drawings - just find the one for the Sport/Sprint with the 447 engine. Those of you who plan to use the 503 will find a similar exploded view and a parts list. I have not taken the trouble to see if they are the same. The one for the 447 is shown below.
